What areas does the North State Food Bank serve?
Community Action Agency of Butte County administers the North State Food Bank in a multi-county region: Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Colusa, Plumas, Sierra, and parts of Yuba, Sutter.
Where is the North State Food Bank located?
Currently the NSFB operates from our Oroville warehouse at 2640 S. Fifth Ave., Suite 7 Oroville, CA 95965 (google maps) through a network of volunteers and nonprofit organization memberships.
Where does the North State Food Bank get its food?
The North State Food Bank (NSFB) operates in conjunction with Feeding America, the nation’s leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Surplus food is donated by large providers and distributed throughout the country via a network of affiliated food banks like ours. In addition, we receive donations from local stores like Safeway, and Walmart, SaveMart and monetary support from individuals and businesses that want to help feed the growing population of needy families.
Basically there are 4 categories:
Food Drives, Donated Food, Perishable Food and purchased food, which depends on funds available to do so.
